Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Am having fat, juicy pork sausages. It’s a night outside my eating plan where my joy will outweigh my guilt!! Big crusty bread rolls and accompanying bbq onion and gherkins. Woo hoo!!

We had chicken and garlic,  mashed potatoes and vegetables tonight

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hi Everyone

Am now on a break and will be left to my one devices on the cooking front. Here’s a story…

For a very long time I used to cook Christmas puddings as gifts. A large number of them. Then about five years ago I stopped because I’d stopped enjoying cooking them. I vowed to never cook them again.

This year I was asked by an elderly friend to cook one. I agreed to. I candied the fruit for 10days, soaked the fruit in alcohol for a further 5days, took 2.5hours to prepare the pudding mix and tins (I made 2 from the one batch) and finally cooked them on the stovetop for 4.5hours.  To my surprise I really enjoyed myself in cooking them.

One of the puddings was “promised” as a contribution to a Christmas function. I hesitated as I didn’t want to give it away to those that may not appreciated. I’m not looking for worship, just perhaps some thank you’s. Anyways after a lengthy discussion with those relevant I’ve agreed to still give it to them.

See how we go.
