Going out tonight at 6.15 thank God, so tired from heat keep wetting head to stay awake having tea out and then karaoke should be a good cool night

 

@TAB love your pic that definitely could be on the cards lol

Music cool to, B 52 haven't listened to them for a while

not looking forward to next week either, we definitely don't want it higher hope it goes down 2 days over 40 house Will be a sauna

 

@StanD so glad you're at friends hopefully give your Chittering chatter monkey's a rest for awhile hope your enjoying your time there

 

Your not being a downer just going through a sad patch which is a okay

thanks @saturnzoon, my day is going well, but that could be because I'm dosed up on pain meds 😁

 

How are you going? Hope you enjoy dinner and karaoke tonight, sounds like a good idea to keep cool.

How is everyone else? Surviving I hope, for the Sydney-siders stay cool, it's 35 in my part of Perthville and humid.
Anyone have plans for tonight? I have nothing on, maybe check out what movies are on Fox or read a book.

Health Food store got me chrysanthemum flowers for tea. I’m going to make chrysanthemum lemonade, is that what it’s called?

I didn’t get to sleep until 3:30am. Woke up … can’t remember what time.

Mood has deteriorated as the day progressed. Maybe I need a swim or sleep? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Why aren't you sleeping @Glisten? Is it due to the heat or health or both?

 

With the chrysanthemum tea, steep it like you would any other tea, add honey or sugar or a sweetener substitute like I do and chill in your fridge. Drink it and it will keep you refreshingly cool.

 

Another thing you can do is bathe in essential oils that are cooling like peppermint essential oil or spritz yourself with a few drops of them mixed with aloe vera water which also has cooling effects. Follow the guidelines (please follow aromatherapy advice to the letter) and take precautions with contraindications and pets!

@Former-Member The not sleeping started a couple of years ago maybe more. I’m not sure. It's psychological.

I think as my life stabilises, the sleep will stabilise.

@Glisten I'm sorry to hear you have not had a good nights rest in as many years - it affects our quality of life.  Have you discussed it with your GP? I used to be a chronic insomniac myself in my youth.

 

One thing I learned from a Harley Street doctor who put out free resources when the pandemic was at its peak was to get the sun at morning sunrise and it will automatically reset your circadian rhythms. My acupuncturist doctor told me the same thing. 

 

This was when I had a return of insomnia and found out gluten was the culprit and the insomnia ruined my circadian rhythms so I could no longer sleep. Had no idea gluten was causing it. Got the gluten out of my diet and after sitting in my garden at morning sunrise presto my normal sleep patterns would return.

 

Many people with MI have gluten issues like gluten sensitivity or coeliacs 

 

There are many reasons why people can't sleep but this was my experience ❤️

@Glisten I'm going to check my local health food store too.

Change in weather will drain you, we have 35 in our region which is better than it has been but still warm. I ordered a cooling mattress topper from Spotlight and it arrived yesterday so I put it on and it is really good. I woke up feeling refreshed but as the day has worn on I've become sleepy. Could be also the pain meds I took earlier. 

If you can go for a swim that would probably help refresh you.

About to step in to the sauna now.
